Informational Seminars
In order to help refugees and immigrants gain an economic and social foothold in the United States the Ansob center offers monthly seminars. Topics that have proven popular include how to buy a home, how to start a business, job training programs, and the college admissions process. Seminars are led by a small panel of experts including staff from outside organizations and institutions. Community members who are able to share their personal experiences are also asked to join the panel. Translation assistance is provided to ease communication between guest speakers and program participants.

Mentoring
In conjunction with the monthly seminars, the center oversees a community based mentoring program. This program pairs community members who have achieved various milestones with other individuals who want to do the same thing. Mentors have provided guidance and direction for those who want to purchase apartments, start businesses, and attend college. They have also provided invaluable information for community members who are seeking employment and have assisted parents in selecting appropriate educational programs for their children.

Quarterly Community Forums
To encourage community cohesion and disseminate information the Ansob center hosts quarterly community meetings. These meeting provide refugees and immigrants with an important forum for discussing community problems and needs. Participants are able to share ideas and devise solutions to the communities challenges. The center supports community led initiatives in every way possible.

Leadership Training
To increase participation outside of the agency, and give refugees and immigrants a voice in the larger society, staff identify and train community leaders. Staff accompany leaders to meetings such as those hosted by the Queens borough President's Office and the New York Immigration Coalition. Leaders are encouraged to participate in discussions and introduce issues at these meeting. Staff also work with community leaders to identify potential partners and build coalitions with other agencies. Leaders help to educate, and involve, other community members by making presentations at quarterly forums.
